A coffee from the renowned Coope Tarrazú RL, located in the Tarrazú region of Costa Rica. This Co-op was founded in the 1960s and today has over 5000 members, while the board of directors is made up entirely of farmers. Around 19,000 pickers come to the area during harvest time, of which 10,000 will pick for the co-op. Many young Costa Ricans have become disinterested in coffee farming, instead favoring more steady and reliable sources of income. However in the Tarrazú region it is all about coffee, and young people are being raised in the practice from an early age.
This coffee is very botanic and fragrant on the nose. Like an elegant and mild perfume. We taste jasmine, caramel-like dates, and unroasted peanuts. Light, but with plenty of syrupiness.
