Plantains. Sounds interesting, right? Think sweet and savory at the same time with a round, creamy texture. Then balance that complexity with a traditional toasted almond nuttiness and you’ve got our newest Peruvian coffee, the Gilmer Cordova. Like the Ixlama, this coffee is a perfect daily driver, ready to be brewed morning after morning (or even night after night, if that’s how you roll)
Sourced from importer Gilmer Mego of San Jose de Lourdes, Peru, this coffee was grown on a 2-hectar farm alongside vegetables, wheat, and other fruit trees. Though this doesn’t provide any extra complexity to the coffee trees themselves, it’s a good representation of the year-round harvesting and work the average coffee grower experiences.
